Tea tree essential oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) is one of the most recommended essential oils in traditional therapeutic use related to health and personal well-being. Tea tree essential oil has therapeutic uses ranging from the extract of its leaves, prepared as an infusion, useful for relieving coughs and sore throats, as well as applying them as a poultice to heal wounds, insect bites, skin infections, and burns. Tea tree essential oil can be applied to acne and occasional pimples, psoriasis, dermatitis, allergies, wounds, mild and sunburns, and skin irritated by waxing or shaving. Tea tree essential oil can be applied to toenail fungus problems and athlete's foot, mosquito and other insect bites, warts. Tea tree essential oil is recommended as a lice repellent. For cold sores, apply regularly with cotton until dry. Tea tree essential oil soothes itching and accelerates wound healing in skin lesions or eruptive diseases. You can apply tea tree essential oil to bumps or bruises. It is useful for treating colds, bronchitis, nasal congestion, sinusitis, and coughs. As a massage, it can be applied to muscle pain, rheumatism, arthritis, and gout. DOSAGE AND RECOMMENDATIONS. For massages, apply 5 to 10 drops to the affected area, 2 or 3 drops on the nails to eliminate the fungus that causes onychomycosis. To reduce cold symptoms or respiratory problems, apply 5 drops to the palm of the hand, rub with both hands, and inhale the vapors for 5 minutes every 4 hours during the day. Do NOT apply to open wounds. Tea tree essential oil should only be used topically. Do NOT ingest. Do NOT apply to orifices (EYES, NOSE, EARS, ETC.). Do not use during pregnancy or lactation. In case of sensitive skin, always use diluted in a base oil.
